Join an online community to create your "Five Wishes," discuss advance directives and living wills, write about your grief, ask your end-of-life questions, explore a "Good Death," discover crucial end-of-life considerations, and more.

This summer, I'm excited to offer a dynamic series of virtual group workshops to help educate individuals and caregivers. Open to everyone considering end-of-life needs, these interactive Zoom sessions will cover a variety of topics ranging from living wills to DNR (do not resuscitate). We'll explore our grief through creative writing, explore what could make a good death for you, and talk about crucial end-of-life topics like burial and eco-friendly end-of-life practices.
I'm end-of-life doula Jessica Dawkins, and I invite you to join our end-of-life community in this supportive and inclusive environment. Each of the workshops offered this summer will provide you or your loved ones with valuable tools and shared experiences. Whether you're looking to gain new skills like how to write a living will, want a fresh perspective on funerals or memorials, or simply want to connect with others on a similar journey, there's something for everyone at Empowered Pathways this season.
Here's a look at our July end-of-life planning and grief workshops:
"Five Wishes" Advance Directive Workshop

Get ready to Plan with Purpose. This informative and compassionate workshop is centered around the Five Wishes advance directive—an easy-to-use legal document that helps you clearly express how you want to be cared for if you become seriously ill or incapacitated.
In this session, participants will explore each of the Five Wishes, covering personal, emotional, medical, and spiritual preferences. While this tool is essential for end-of-life planning, it also serves as a powerful guide for your loved ones and healthcare providers, ensuring your values and voice are honored when you may not be able to speak for yourself. Whether you're just beginning to think about advance care planning or ready to complete your directive, this workshop provides a safe, supportive environment to ask questions, reflect on your values, and take meaningful steps toward peace of mind—for yourself and those who care about you.
Grief Writing Group Workshop

This creative writing workshop is led by our certified end-of-life doula and certified creative writing workshop instructor (UCF), Jessica Dawkins. This writing workshop offers a supportive space for individuals to process and explore their grief through the power of storytelling and self-expression. Participants will be guided through reflective prompts, poetic exercises, and narrative techniques that help give voice to loss, memory, and healing.
Whether you’re new to writing or experienced, this workshop encourages gentle exploration of complex emotions in a safe, judgment-free environment. By putting pen to paper, participants can discover how writing can be a meaningful tool for honoring their experiences, finding connection, and beginning to move forward with compassion and clarity.
"The Tea" Community Death Chat

Join an open and compassionate community chat focused on death, dying, and end-of-life needs. In a warm and welcoming environment, participants are invited to share thoughts, ask questions, and explore the emotional, practical, and spiritual aspects of this often-taboo topic. Whether you're facing personal decisions, supporting a loved one, or simply curious about how to prepare for this natural part of life, this conversation aims to reduce fear, foster understanding, and build a sense of connection. Together, we’ll create space for honest dialogue, meaningful reflection, and mutual support.
Good Death Planning Workshop

This empowering workshop is designed to help you thoughtfully plan for a "good death"—one that aligns with your values, honors your wishes, and brings comfort to both you and your loved ones. Through guided discussion and practical education, participants will explore key elements of end-of-life planning, including advance directives, legacy projects, personal values, and emotional considerations. You'll learn how to navigate important decisions, communicate your needs clearly, and customize your plans to reflect what matters most to you. In a supportive and respectful setting, this workshop offers the tools and insight needed to face end-of-life with confidence, dignity, and peace of mind.
Plan With Intention and Compassion
As summer unfolds, I invite you to engage in meaningful conversations and practical planning through these series of end-of-life workshops. These sessions are designed to empower you or your family members with knowledge, clarity, and a sense of peace as we navigate the often-overlooked aspects of life’s final chapter. Whether you're exploring your personal wishes, supporting a loved one, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of what it means to prepare for a good death, these workshops offer compassionate guidance in a supportive community. By facing these topics with openness and intention, we can all move toward the end of life with greater confidence, comfort, and connection.
